An afternoon of fierce competition, and fierce fun, was had by all at Lapp’s Quay, Saturday 11th, by the 16 teams that took part in this year’s Dragon Boat Challenge. 13 different companies battled their way through the Cup and Plate competitions, with both titles going to teams taking part for the first time.

Congratulations to ‘Brookfield Renewable Energy’ on their victory in the Cup, as well as to Plate winners ‘VCE’ and a special mention to the ‘Pfizer Risers’ whose team ‘haka’ earned them the Dragon’s Roar trophy! We hope all teams had an enjoyable and memorable experience, and on behalf of the team and board at Meitheal Mara, we’d like to extend a sincere thank you for taking part, and for supporting our work, through our Dragon Boat Challenge fundraiser.
Congratulations to everyone who took part – a lot of team work goes into organising crews and getting everyone on board (pun intended!).
Many thanks also to our fantastic team from Meitheal Mara who volunteered their time to helm boats, kit out crews, steward, face-paint, safety brief, commentate, set-up, and many other behind-the-scenes details that go into making an event like this a success.
